Didcot sewage works

Our Didcot site

As one of our more modern sewage treatment works, it's more compact than some of our older ones. It also has a dedicated classroom building for use by school visits.

Our Didcot site is unique. Not only does it treat the wastewater from the region, it's also the first site in the UK to create biomethane gas from the waste product - using it to power homes in the local area.

School tours at this site are run in conjunction with the Earth Trust who can also offer additional learning opportunities at their local education centre.

To book, please email our education team on school.bookings@thameswater.co.uk

Disabled access

Whilst we have endeavoured to make our sites as accessible as possible, due to the nature of operational sites not all of our tours are fully accessible to those with mobility issues.

Most tours involve stairways and raised platforms. If this is likely to present anyone in your party with difficulties please make sure you raise this with us when you make a booking.
