We will be carrying out construction works at Lockwood Reservoir from June to December 2017 to protect the embankment around the reservoir so we can make sure it’s safe for the future.
This work will be carried out in two phases. The map below illustrates the restrictions that will be in place during Phase one between June and August. We'll have signage and traffic marshals in place to assist anyone using Low Maynard Road at this time.
For everyone's safety, there will be no access to Lockwood Reservoir for fishing or bird watching during construction hours(7AM to 6PM) until mid August.
The second phase of this work will start in September. During this period we will be working on the west embankment, which means we will be able to reopen the eastern banks of the reservoir. To enable us to carry out this work we will need to partially drain down the reservoir, which will be of interest to bird watchers as we expect this to attract a range of rare birds to the area.
We will do everything we can to reduce disruption during this essential work and thank you for your understanding.
