Thames Water officially unveiled two skimmer vessels - the first of their kind - as an interim measure to improve the environmental and aesthetic quality of the River Thames prior to the completion of our London Tideway Improvements.

The £4m vessels; Clearwater I and Clearwater II, have been specially designed to collect litter from the river surface, which is swept into the water from sewage outfalls during heavy rainfall.
